Do you use any makeup primer/base to help your foundation to stay longer? There are many available in the market, and nearly every brand that carries cosmetics would have at least one primer. I have used some, and sometimes I find that makeup base is not necessary. Only sometimes! That being said, if any tinted makeup base does not work well with my foundation, I would not mind at all as long as it does not cause me breakouts or hug on the dry patches on my face because I could use it alone with some loose powder, and I am good to go!
This, in particular, brings us to Elite Models UV Base Pure Light that I got from Watsons for RM 28.72 per bottle. This makeup base has only 2 shades – Pink 01 and Purple 02, and I have the lighter shade to share with you today.
Elite Models UV Base Pure Light Pink 01 & Purple 02
“Enriched in Aloe and Licorice, this Protective UV Primer moisturizes, lightens and gives a beautiful glow. Oil-free.”
Pink – to give a glow/healthy appearance while Purple – to correct yellow skin tone
This UV base comes with moderately high UV protection – SPF30 to protect the skin from UV rays, which contributes to dark spots and sunburn. Although the formula is oil-free and the texture is light, it does give my skin a dewy look instead of semi-matte that was printed at the back of its packaging. Despite its shade classification, this UV base does not have a pinkish tint, but rather yellowish-peach.
See the micro-glitters?
I could see the micro-glitters that makes my skin look healthy!
See how watery the texture is? It makes blending easy, and I like that this base leaves my skin looking smooth and radiant, thanks to the micro-shimmer that is not very visible on the face. On the arms and hands, on the contrary, is a different story. When I first spread the base on my hand, I was gutted by the loads of micro-shimmer, but after I apply it on my face, I like the glow that it gives. My face does not feel tacky or greasy at all, but I do need to powder my T-zone after 4 hours. This UV base is also moisturizing and does not hug on my dry patches around my T-zone area. However, I would not encourage anyone skipping their usual moisturizer or sunscreen and treating this UV base as an all-in-one product! Please do not ever do that. Makeup base or primer is makeup, not skin care.
I got this bottle during sales, and it is best to watch out for sales because you get to purchase any product that you would like to try or restock as you are paying lesser. Hence, that makes you a good consumer, woot woot!
For that price, I have nothing to complain because I can use this alone and still look healthy even though I was a little unimpressed with the results when I apply this before my regular liquid and cream foundations.
Have you tired this makeup base? Have you tried any that you like?
