How many of you have heard of used a cushion foundation? I had not, until Sulwhasoo, a renowned Korean skincare brand, launched Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation recently. Few Korean companies (to name a few: Laniege, Iope, and Etude House) have released their own cushion foundation, and Sulwhasoo, one of the prestige brands from Korea, followed suit. To be frank, I was more intrigued to find out how well this premium brand would do for its makeup, so I invested RM180 for Evenfair Perfecting Cushion in shade no.21 (Medium Pink). There are 3 other shades available – No.13 (Light Pink), No.23 (Medium Beige), and No.25 (Deep Beige).
This Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation is believed to give flawlessly healthy resilience and radiance while providing perfect coverage and long-lasting hydration. Since Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation contains apricot seed herbal moisturizer, the skin is fully moisturized all day, leaving the skin looking flawless and smooth for a long time. This cushion foundation is also said to have anti-wrinkle and whitening properties!
The thin puff provided to pat over the face is good enough to tap/smooth and glide the foundation on the face. Once applied, I noticed how light the cushion foundation was, and once it settled, the skin appeared slightly radiant and natural. I must say that the skin looks as though there was nothing on! I hardly find streaks upon retouching, and all I get was an even finish overall, and I enjoyed the comfort of retouching as it never looked cakey or over-layered at all! Lines were somehow smoothen a little, and I would even apply this foundation under my eyes. Since I have noticeable pores, I would try (when time allows) to apply a face primer before applying foundation. I found Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation works best with my Paul & Joe Protective Foundation Primer as I got smooth, silky finish!
Yet, the finish may just be a tad shiny for some because there are beauties would prefer a more matte finish, so using a setting powder after applying this cushion foundation is a must. I prefer to wear this during my lazy days where I do not need to powder and apply any concealer on my face. That being said, you would still to rely on a concealer should you have those naughty zits on your face.
I know some may also compare Sulwhasoo Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation (RM180) with Laniege BB Cushion (RM140), but I must assert that there is a difference even though Sulwhasoo Malaysia is currently parked under the management of Laniege Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Sulwhasoo Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation is a foundation despite being so lightweight, one criterion that some may relate with BB creams; however, Laniege BB Cushion is solely a BB cream. That explains the higher coverage one gets with a foundation. On the other hand, a BB cream is believed to give a more natural look, but Sulwhasoo Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation proved that you can get higher coverage that comes in the amazingly lightweight form like a BB cream; hence, you pay RM40 more for this latest offering from Sulwhasoo.
Never knew foundation could be that lightweight! Have you tried Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Foundation already?
With love,
LY
