Fair Lovelies, M.A.C. has a Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish to be “THE” Perfect Topping for Ya’ Face!

This Spring, M.A.C. released two mineralize Skinfinish for the “A Fantasy of Flowers” collection, and I went home with one of them, which is Perfect Topping, as I personally felt the other (Stereo Rose) might be too obvious for my skin as a highlighter for its copper bronze shade, and I do not intend to use the mineralize skinfinish as a blusher for its frosted finish. Perfect Topping is my very first mineralize Skinfinish from M.A.C., so I could not make any comparison about its formula from any collection in the past.

Being described as “pale pearlised pink”, it was difficult to capture the colour upon initial swatches. I saw light beige-champagne on my arm; however, once applied on the cheekbones, Perfect Topping was more pale-peachy-pink on me that turned my pink blush a little peachier, too.

Swatched: Do you see pale-pearly-pink? I don't, unfortunately.

Each baked formula does not have the same veins of colour in each pan. Mine has lesser purple.

Some highlighters are very shimmery, but this one here is frosted with fine shimmers, which is rather common for M.A.C.’s Mineralize Skinfinish. Since highlighters are meant to create a soft glow for the skin, Perfect Topping does it perfect as in it does not make the makeup look one-dimensional. A Mineralize Skinfinish stated to be is a luxuriously domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide dimensional yet natural-matte finish. I am happy to share that Perfect Topping makes the skin look natural while controlling oil at my T-Zone area while does not leave my skin  matte or flat either.

All I do to make this work as a highlighter is to swirl my powder brush in the product before applying it on my cheekbones, forehead, nose bridge, and cupid bow.

Without lip colour, eye liner and mascara to complete my look.

Damn the white cast from my sunblock!  The Mineralize Skinfinish looks very natural in every photos I take.

The only downside to this Mineralize Skinfinish is that it may accentuate pores if you apply TOO MUCH. Since the colour is quite light on my NC15-20 skin, once I feel that I have applied as much as how I do on other highlighters, I would have to stop reaching that product again or I risk looking a little patchy. Still, Perfect Topping is neither too glittery nor powdery for a highlighter, and I had 8 solid hours of it on my face before it slowly began to turn a little patchy. I am so blaming the weather these days, you know.

If you have yet to visit M.A.C. cosmetics for its “Fantasy of Flowers” collection, I would say you better do. Everything else isn’t all about being rosy and pink; in fact, this collection also has a coral mineralize blush, and some green, brown, and purple mineralize eye shadows! I have always loved its mineralize eye shadows as the staying power is great once used wet, but I have not bought any yet! Limited Edition items from M.A.C. run out real fast! (Time to visit M.A.C. again soon)

With love,
